A rainy day

W and History

Our two year old has a memory that just scares me sometimes. I wish I could remember things as well as he could. He LOVES to learn. My mom bought him Presidential flash cards about a year ago, and he absolutely is obsessed with going over the presidents. He definitely knows who is who among the presidents a lot better than I do!

Artwork for Kids

My kids are my inspiration for a lot of my artistic creations. W keeps me up to date as to what characters are "hot" among the toddler crowd. Here are some designs I've done:

Playing Fashion Show with W's Toys

Today when I was designing my tutu collars out of tulle ribbon, W decided to have a "fashion show" with his toy characters. Buzz Lightyear, Spiderman, Batman, Mickey and Minnie Mouse all got a make-over! It was a rainy day--what a great way to keep a 2yo occupied!

Fashionable Four Eyes

As someone who gave up my full time job to stay at home full time, I know how pricey things such as eye glasses can be. I have worn glasses since I was 10 years old, and I'm the first to admit, I have sported some pretty hideous styles. Basically you could call them "birth control glasses." I wear my glasses on a daily basis. I do have contacts, but I'm not really a fan of sticking my fingers into my eyes-especially at 2am after the bars have closed.
Over time as I gained some sort of fashion sense, I wanted to wear glasses that didn't make me look like an alien with half my face cut off. Nor did I want to go nuts shelling out tons of money for a new pair of glasses. So one day, while shopping at KMART, I stumbled upon the selection of reading glasses that they have there. To my pleasant surprise, they actually had a good selection of fashionable glasses that I could wear without shuddering or accessorizing with a paper bag over my face. The pair of glasses that I picked out were tortoiseshell, with little diamonds on the sides of them. I thought they were cute! They cost a total of $12.99 if I am remembering correctly. At the eye dr's, I only had to pay for the exam, and I save a couple hundred bucks on frames. So for all your four eyed fashionistas out there--check out KMART!
